Sightings report image

Date: 09/24/2016

Number: 20

We saw about 20 in Graveyard Fields off the Blue Ridge Pkwy--they came in one by one over about a 20 minute period and started nectaring on goldenrod and purple aster within a meadow about an acre in size, but they were staying fairly close together. They seemed strong and active. We watched for about 45 minutes, and thought they were maybe there for the night (left about 4 PM).
