With the cold front that went through yesterday, we had a lot of monarch going through our yard, between 9am-5pm. Many stopping to nectar - primarily on mexican sunflower, zinnias, New England aster and goldenrod.
Today was sunny and in the low 70s with a westerly wind of about 9 mph.
Today we netted, tagged and released 6 adult monarchs; 4 males and 2 females. But there were quite q few more that I missed - maybe 6-8 more.
Since Sept 22, we have netted, tagged and released 16 adult monarchs; 10 males and 6 females.
