I was surprised to see the adult male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird "slip" in for another evening snack as he usually does. After having a severe thunderstorm that cooled temps. off to 74 during the day & 52-54 at night I thought he might have moved on today. I will look again tomorrow night around 5:30-6:30pm as that is the only time I see him & he only comes once: twice if we are lucky. We still have 2 sub-males but I do not know what happened to our dominant male. He did not take over our make-shift perch we placed on our patio cover pole. I still here them feeding out back at the Mexican Sunflowers, Turk's Cap. These Salvia's seem to be popular 'Bright Eyes', Amistad, Love & Wishes & Salvia greggii 'Cherry Chief' . Our Cypress Vine is still blooming & they hit that as well. Last year I think all of the Juveniles were gone by 09/28 or 09/29. So as far as I can tell they all even our summer residents have been leaving like "Clockwork" if not a day or 2 earlier. That is why I was so surprised to have our visiting adult male so late in the season.
