We sighted 1 monarch at 9:10 a:m. He flew out of our cedars and came down to get nectar on one of our butterfly bushes. He didn't stay their long as it clouded up and we had rain showers. At noon it cleared up pretty nicely and soon there were 6 monarchs gathered on our bushes, all feeding. Clouds were rolling in again at about 3 p:m and the number of monarchs decreased a bit at a time until there were only 2 left at 4:15 and at 5:10 there was only one still in sight. He soon went to find a roost too.
