Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/29/2016

Number: 3

Saw only one early on this AM.. a good-sized female adult, feeding from feeders in back by the gardens-which are still full of Black and Blue Salvia. She's been mostly sitting, perched one of the feeders in the middle of the garden, with an occasional sip. The temp was 50-now 55, cloudy and windy, which seems to be keeping the Bees away from the feeders. Another arrived about 10 minutes ago..very small juvenile female, still very light in color, slim, and very petite.
I changed out the now 24 plus feeders last night, after seeing that several looked much lower, though we're not seeing the birds that must be feeding at them. May be transients ..
Caught a glance of one healthy looking male in front yard, seen feeding at one of the perch feeders..ate for about 3 mins., then flew off
