We found monarch caterpillars in our backyard and brought them inside and put them in our butterfly habitat. Fed them milkweed leaves and they pupated and then hatched a few days ago. We let them go and have seen at least one of them fly in our backyard a few times. We still have one more that should hatch in a few days.
