Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/28/2016

Number: 2

I went outside & scared one away from the kitchen feeder. They are mainly feeding in the corner of our yard again that has all of the Mexican Sunflowers, Turk's Cap, Cypress Vine is blooming well & they enjoy the 'Love & Wishes' Salvia that is in a Large pot this year. Occasionally I see one feed on the feeder at the patio but they are really feeding mostly on the flowers & leaving the feeder's alone. I heard a lot of vocals like they were chasing each other in both of the neighbor's yards. I believe these 2 that are left are the sub-males. I have not seen the adult male R.T. but I could not sit outside & fight the mosquito's without the bug repellent that my husband has forgotten to buy for the last 3 days. I also left my Binocular's outside in the rain & they have not completely dried out. I cannot see the birds at dusk with my eyes only as I have Cataracts that have to come off. I was hoping my husband could help me watch for them but he has been busy with meetings at night. I have a feeling that this may be there last day with us as it takes them 20 mins. to return to our yard. I suppose the storms we had for 2 days really took a lot of blooms off of a lot of the plants in the city. With that the case this will probably push them on South.
