Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/28/2016

Number: 1

We had a terrific thunderstorm & I went to check on our Abelia Shrub. It did not have a lot of blooms on it due to all of the rain but I got to see a single Monarch taking his/her time to feed on the nectar that was left. I did not have my camera charged or I would have taken a picture. That was the Shrub I was going to cut down as the shape has gotten lost but we will leave it as long as it hangs in there with this Texas sun & heat. It may do a little better next year with some supplemental watering. But what a nice surprise to see the Monarch!
