While leading a nature hike for a school group of 2nd graders this morning about 11:00 AM, I spotted a monarch as it flew very close by us. We were climbing on rocks on Lake Gulch Trail. Another volunteer naturalist told me she also saw a monarch flying near the amphitheater. A sunny day, about 75 F, southern breeze.
