Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/30/2016

Number: 5

Radford, Virginia, Radford University -- Five adult Monarchs were feeding on the blossoms of the butterfly bush. These were the first adults I have seen this year as part of the fall migration south. This sighting data is useful in my EDUC 310 elementary science course for teacher education students. We're using the migration process as a foundation for citizen science and cross-curricular teaching.
