Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/29/2016

Number: 1

1 left. Young female. Husband saw her feeding on Cypress Vine & I have to say this Vine is the most beautiful Vine I have ever had. It has gotten at least 30 ft. Tall. Making a huge canopy over the trees in the back. Blooms are high up making a nice place for hummers to visit & feel safe. Peak Bloom cycle & the red really is inviting. I watched for her around 5-6 pm & she came to feeder at patio. It seems to be their favorite one. The Perkey-Pet Frolic feeder with the plastic flowers & bee guards removed. Flowers are slowing down production with cooler nights in the 50's esp. the Amistad & Cigar plant. Just did my last fertilization of plants since 6 wks. out from our usual frost date. She is hardly noticeable for me as my vision is poor. Our city is too loud to hear any wing sounds. No vocals so she is pretty quiet. I only see her is I am looking for her at feeder. I do not know how long she will stay as most of ours are gone by now. Still on the "look-out" for any Rufous but have not seen any yet.
