Moving on down... through Oklahoma. Wednesday, Sept. 28th had near perfect conditions for migration. Mild temps, clear skies and a gentle 8-10 MPH wind from the north. Well over a hundred of the leading edge of the migrating monarchs were observed through the day. The counts continued to be high over the next 3 days, though the winds lightened. Flying low, they took time to nectar at on Tithiona, Golden crownbeard and frostweed.
