While mowing grass around 3Pm I stirred up a very brilliantly-colored monarch that was apparently trying to rest/roost in my Gingko tree. The colors were so vivid that it had to be a recently morphed one. I have noticed since August at least that the adults have been roosting in my maple woood lot during the late evening hours.
Also. still monitoring the progress of that lone chrysalis. As of yesterday, it has swelled slightly and become a more milky green with bright speckles. It should morph soon.
