Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/04/2016

Number: 1

I went to get a haircut today and parked next to a field. I saw an orange butterfly and got excited, but then I thought it may be a Viceroy. I walked across the wet field to a cluster of blooming clover and sure enough, it was a Monarch!! I took a photo, but it closed its wings just as I did and then, my phone wouldn't let me take any more photos! I know it was a Monarch because it didn't have the line on the hind wings as a Viceroy does! And....it was a male.
