The weather was perfect for planting our bulbs. With the temperature of 78 degrees and warm sunshine two third grade classes planted bulbs around the front of the building and around a school information sign. We were careful to plant at the correct depth and to avoid plantings around concrete or the building. We carried a 5 gallon container with water and used drinking glasses to water each bulb. The weatherman says that we will have rain later today and that will help. The custodian just came in to ask if he can put down mulch. Everything came together. The kids were excited and happy to help. They wondered what the tulip bulb planters were and what we called the little shovel. We talked about why the bulb must be planted with the pointed side up and where the baby plant was located and where the roots were located. The teachers, Miss Hillstrom and Miss Boehm, gave up their prep time to be with their class.
