Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/02/2016

Number: 5

On this sunny day (82 degrees F) around 3pm I decided to examine the milkweed plants that are abundant and flowering. I found 5 monarch larvae in various sizes and 7 eggs. I had not really been looking for flying or egg-laying monarchs recently, but clearly they had been here! This is a photo of the largest larvae ~ even I couldn't miss seeing him at about 45mm. After seeing him happily munching his leaf I set off to find more!
