larva collected after first frost -- seemed very slow and lethargic, didn't really eat... I found a patch of unfrosted milkweed and provided it to the cat -- which changed everything. Suddenly ate half a leaf in an hour and continued, went through two molts and is now going J. Larva therefore lived 2.5 weeks as a stage 3 cat, before continuing on.
