I spent about 3 hours, noon - 3pm Friday, Oct. 7th at a number of pull off's on the parkway.
I drove to Caney Fork in Haywood County, I saw no butterflies at that location. I noticed that a lot of the wildflowers had dried up, mostly Golden Rods. The flowers were not the vibrant flowers I had seen only 5 days before...I then drove back north on the parkway to Devil's Courthouse, no Monarch's there, drove onto Grave Yard fields, saw 2 Monarch's, then on to Cherry Cove pull off, didn't see any Monarch's...at Pounding Mill Rock pull off, I counted 3 Monarch's..for a grand total of 5 Monarch's...
