Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/10/2016

Number: 15

We saw at least 15 adult monarchs passing through part of our 20 acres of wildflowers and grass moving generally from the east to the west. We observed for about 1/2 hour. Weather is sunny/partly cloudy and 78 degrees. Unable to see the activity for all 20 acres. We were in a one acre area so possibly multiply by 20 more or less to have an accurate count. They all appeared very healthy and preferred the purple pin cushion native to Texas even though the yellow flowers are more abundant. One more just flew by. Very large and strong looking. We have had a lot of antelope milkweed growing here the last two springs and have left it for the spring migration. This is like a Monarch parade out here today.
