Around 11:00am I saw 5 monarchs in an area of several acres. They were flying low over the milkweed, some nectaring. I had to leave, but got back at 1:00 pm and at that time found 3 monarchs still there. It was a sunny day with some clouds and about 85 degrees F. Of those 3 monarchs, 2 were males and 1 was female. The female had slightly faded wings. One of the males was very bright-winged and large & the other male was smaller, faded, and had a torn left wing. This is a photo of the smaller fellow as he got nectar from the flowering milkweed.
