Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/13/2016

Number: 1

Sighted one female monarch 3:02 PM, weather cool appx 50 degrees and mostly overcast. This was an unusual sighting, butterfly appeared by crawling out from under remaining leaves and overblown seed pods of an orange butterfly weed in backyard butterfly garden. Colors very deep and rich, possibly brand new monarch (or possibly was sheltering under/in the butterfly weed due to cool weather last night, local frost/freeze warning in area last night).
