Today I observed 2 monarchs on the ground close to one another sipping on dandelion flowers. I was able to net a male monarch and tag it (WCZ-895). The other one flew south. The one I tagged also flew south when I released it. The wind was blowing 20 mph from the south with the temperature at 64F on a mostly cloudy day.
