It's been a interesting past week, seeing monarchs either flying past or drinking from the butterfly bushes (where they usually get caught and tagged). Today so far I've seen four monarchs and tagged three of them. The last 5+ monarchs I've tagged have been females, a strange deviation from the rest of the tagging year, which was almost entirely male. That poses some interesting questions, and it will be interesting to see if any others report this.
