I observed 3 monarchs after a thunderstorm with lightening went through at 11 AM. The monarchs were seen between 2 and 4 PM at the Harrisville Harbor sipping on knapweed. I was able to net and tag 1 female monarch and 1 male (WCZ-898 and WCZ-899). I have now used all of my 25 tags from Monarch Watch. These 2 monarchs were the latest I have ever tagged in the fall season. Weather was muggy with heavy dark clouds with the temperature at 67F and a wind SE-7. I will continue to watch for monarchs while birdwatching and report them to JN.
