Hola,
We are the Hollis Hawks. We are a small, rural Pre-K through 12th grade school. We have 24 students. We are located on Prince of Wales, a small Southeast Alaskan Island. We are a part of the Southeast Alaskan Panhandle. We live in a temperate rainforest in the Tongass National Forest; the largest national forest in the United States. Many of us live on the fish (salmon and halibut), berries, roots, crab, shrimp, and other food we harvest from our island and the sea. We want to keep butterflies safe and take care of the environment to keep us all healthy and safe.

We decorated our butterfly with Alaska symbols:
Bald Eagle by Wyatt
Flag by Keaden
Forget Me Not Flowers by Chloe
Gold by Kolton
Moose by Ryon
Salmon by CJ
Bear by Isaac
Wale Tales by Jacob
Ptarmagin by Jose

We are happy to be a part of this project. We hope our butterflies make it safey to your classroom in Mexico.

Gracias por cuidar a las mariposas monarcas este invierno, de parte de sus vecinos del norte.

Hollis, AK
