Sighted three monarchs two female not sure gender of the third. Saw them different times throughout day, 10:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Weather sunny all day, a bit cool in morning appx 67 degrees and strong winds, later in day warmer high appx 78 degrees and wind calmed as day progressed. Two of the butterflies are in accompanying photo. Unfortunately when I checked for monarchs again at 3:00 PM found one of these (top one in photo) was dead, having been decapitated and front of body missing down to beginning of wings. Can only guess maybe praying mantis caused this ( have had many in garden this year).
