We wanted to let you know that although last year at this time we had over 100 Monarch butterflies, crysalis, caterpillars and full life cycles, this year we saw the 15 or so caterpillars on the day we made our previous report and that since then, we have seen nothing. We don't know what happened to the larvae, we never saw them again and no other Monarchs came to our butterfly garden.
Our area has had a severe drought, we wonder if that caused the butterflies to stay away.
