I saw the tiniest hummingbird I ever have seen. I thought at first it was an insect or a bee. Its body was about 1 inch long, maybe an inch and a half. Its color was a brownish red looking down on it with no standout marks. It was feeding vigorously upon a native Texas lantana bush blooming with pink/gold clusters. I stood a foot away from the bush and the bird fed from cluster to cluster for 5 minutes or more. It would fly away for a few seconds and then come right back. The bush was only about 3 ft tall and I never saw the bird's throat or belly. It looked for it today, but no sighting. If you can, tell me what it was.
