In an area about 20 yards by 20 yards were some 700 monarchs roosting in a patch of trees consisting of pine, mesquite, and ash trees in a contiguous grove on the south edge of a small bluff some 500 yards from the banks of the Rio Grande in Eagle Pass, Tx.
