Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/22/2016

Number: 3

Oh my gosh! It was so cold in southern Ontario yesterday (10/22), only reaching 8 C in the afternoon, but 3 monarchs managed to get warmed up and flew by the hawk watch platform. 8.5 hours of observation

I went out there today (10/23), hoping to catch eagles as they had 5 bald and three golden eagles yesterday. No eagles, but can you believe it that after I left about 1 pm, one monarch flew by!!!!!!

Cranberry Marsh at Lynde Shores Conservation Area on the north shore of Lake Ontario near Whitby, Ontario

No monarch in its right mind should be flying today!
