Still seeing Monarchs on the golf course and in my garden. But only singles at a time.

Have one concern. I have several chrysalis that have not developed. Some are black and some are still partly green. They've been hanging in my pine trees well over a month. So don't think they will hatch. What do you think might have caused this. I have about 5 that I am aware of. Probably more.
