When we came home this weekend from Tucson, I had noticed a few butterflies that I THOUGHT were Monarchs. I'd never seen them the four years that I have planted a garden. But today, when I headed out to the store I saw numerous Queen Butterflies. I would have to say between 3 and 5 dozen. I've always had light green, yellow and white butterflies, but never Monarchs. This year I planted 2 Lantana bushes, which - by the way have taken over my garden - and the bees and other butterflies love them. We live on 10 acres and I am going to look into what other flowers and bushes Monarchs love so that next year I will have a safe place for them. We also have numerous Pine Trees for them to "roost" in. :)
