One large monarch seen nectaring on verbena bonarienses today at 11:30 a.m. Sunny,70 degrees, 10 mph wind.

Pretty late for a monarch here, but this one may be a recently eclosed one from our milkweed garden. We have not cleared any spent garden blooms and dead leaves or plants yet and the chrysalis may have been spared, so the butterfly survived.
