A class of 7 second graders from Cambridge Elementary went on a field trip to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens on October 24 to observe monarchs as they are migrating through. We counted approximately 41 adult monarchs from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The adults were drinking nectar from various flowers at the gardens. We also observed 3 chrysalises and 1 monarch caterpillar on milkweed.
