Beautiful day in Duck - 75 degrees, very light SW breeze, thin cloud cover.

On the beach at noon I counted an average of six Monarchs per minute over a 40 minute period, all heading south. Most were only a few feet above the sand.

On the west shore of the sound at about 3:00 I counted 2+ Monarchs per minute over a 15 minute period, all heading south.
