Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/28/2016

Number: 1

I found a newly emerged male Monarch butterfly in my tall grass. It was cold and rainy. He allowed me to pick him up. I kept him in the house and picked Tropical Milkweed that I had growing in a pot, and gave him this to nectar on for several days. On a bright, sunny day, November 2, he flew away. He left for Mexico on the day when others were arriving there. I am not sure that he can make it, but I did tag him, and thanked him for the pleasure of his company during the day of the dead. He may have been carrying the soul of my father.
