I am reporting a sighting for my brotherthat lives in Katy Texas. We both are still seeing very late Ruby throats. It is significant in that these hummingbirds are attracted to only the feeders with big red flowers on feeders.The same with my grandson on Surfside beach just out of Freeport,Tx. Using the same feeder style who also got a ruby throat in Oct.
It is unusuly hot still this first week of November. These hummers may be with us still migrating late, confused not to migrate all the way back to Central America.The Rufous are late also coming thru as I saw last week on Halloween with a 2 day drop in Rufous.
