Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/06/2016

Number: 1

Warm, sunny day (high 60s), light wind. We were hiking along a river at the edge of a prairie and a woodland. The single Monarch was flying low, trying to gain altitude against a SW wind. We haven't had frost/freeze here, so there are still a few nectar sources, although they're fading fast. This is the latest in the season I've seen a Monarch in the Madison area.
