Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/06/2016

Number: 100

I've seen Monarch Fritillary migrations for years in October. Smaller, orange butterflies, moving west to east along Highway 30A Seaside and Seagrove Beach, never alighting. This time, from Nov 1-8 I saw dozens and dozens of large orange and black butterflies, also moving west to east, but soaring three-ten stories above ground sometimes, floating around on air currents sometimes, and also alighting on the ground or dune bushes along the Gulf. Dozens and dozens of them, not clustering, but one to three at a time, expect clusters on the grass sometimes. Behavior not like Fritillaries I've seen, and much larger, so I'm assuming Monarchs.
