Over the course of the afternoon, I saw about a half dozen monarchs heading south at various points in Central and South Austin. This one stopped to feed on some Queen's Wreath blossoms. After several days of rain, the sun peeked out and winds were light and favorable from the north. I also saw a group of about 50 hawks spiraling high in the air currents and gradually moving southeast.
