Sightings report image

Date: 11/10/2016

Number: 4

Mexican sunflowers and Zinnas have seeded beautifully, so my garden has been a magnet for a many butterflies. It's exciting trying to count the Monarchs within the menagerie of butterflies. Today's total count of Monarchs were 4. The monarchs just were not all in this picture. I do know that Queens are a close relative.

I just wanted to add that I understand the importance of an accurate count of Monarchs. I've been really careful with my count each time I report. This has been an amazing fall with all the butterflies including Monarchs and Queens. The 2 years prior do not even compare to this fall. I believe the weather and the crazy seeding of my Mexican Sunflowers have made the difference.
