Saw *possible* monarch feeding on a fallen, broken-open apple. I hustled for my camera and rushed back, but then one of the friendly local (human) chatterboxes arrived and I never saw the butterfly again - sigh. Can only say the butterfly was orange, with black markings along the wing edges so maaaybe a monarch. Weather seems wee bit warmish for this time of year- so perhaps a straggler headed southward.
