Date: 11/18/2016

Number: 3

Today!!...NOVEMBER 18th, 2016.....THREE monarchs seen at Point Pelee National Park between 11 & 2pm.
All three were seen between 1:20 & 1:50 pm.
Upon arrival temp was 16°c/61f.
Full sunshine & at 2 pm it was 20°c/68f reaching today a record breaking high of 21.5°c.
Southerly wind was moderate at 24 kph.
The first monarch, a beautuful flawless female was observed on east side of Tip fluttering just above the sand & at first I thought it was a leaf! It continued south along shoreline toward Tip remaining below 10' in height. She fluttered across Tip to west side into shoreline trees where I lost sight of her.

Vid & photos are of this female monarch.

Immediately afterward a second monarch was seen on east side of Tip out over the lake at about 50'+ in height. Being pushed north by the south wind it struggled as it journeyed NE over the lake & out of view.

The 3rd monarch was seen near west path just south of the TIP parking lot. I lost sight of it in the trees along the west shoreline.

The west side was a bit more calm than the east side.
Incredibly gorgeous day...t-shirt weather. There are still a few nectar flowers in the park.
The warm temps end today with tomorrow's forecast here in Canada's most southern point to be 6°c (40's)...chance of snow flurries Sat eve.
Future daytime highs of 8°c max!!
