I kept my Mexican Sunflowers as long as possible for any late monarchs. But with blizzard warnings not too far north of us and with predictions of our first hard freeze and 1-3" of snow, I cut them down. I hated to do it but I cut a small bouquet. They're great as cut flowers and, besides the seeds I saved, I get to enjoy them inside just a bit longer while it's white outside.
