RARE SIGHTING-Unidentified hummingbird posted on 11/13/16 2day has been ID. Sighted several days between 11/13/16--11/18/16 early in am/noon. At 12:15 pm(CST) I was staring out our glass door at Cuphea x David Verity (Cigar Plant). I saw the colors of black, blue & white. 1st Thought he was a Black-Swallow Tail Butterfly but realized it was a Hummer. Looking thru my binoculars while husband quickly got this pic(in haste.Poor quality but shows red bill. When sunlight hit his neck/chest the blues colors "exploded" in several hues bursting N2 spectacular site. It was the "Broad-Billed Hummingbird" & to not get it confused with the Broad-Tail. A storm system must have blown him off couse. He is a vagrant. Adult, Male in all his glory!
