It was fun to plant our bulbs. We got really dirty! We did other cool experiments too! We are finding out whether these variables change when tulips emerge: compacting the tulip bed with a car, planting 9 inches deep, cutting off some scales, injecting sugar solution, adding blood meals, planting near pavement, planting in a courtyard, removing the tunic, cutting off the tip, planting upside down, planting in a pot, planting a different type of tulip. We put a tablespoon of bone meal under all of our bulbs.
