Monarch Adult Sighted

Number: 2

The one in the photo is ragged and torn and probably can't make it to Mexico. I was glad she could feed in our yard on the milk weed. If you look very closely I hope you can see that she has a small hole in the right wing. I wondered if she had been tagged and lost her tag. There was a male in another area of our yard. He was nectaring on Mexican sunflowers. I think he has been here for weeks. He appears fresh and bright and beautiful and not in any hurry to go south. I wonder about him. He has been around since October 28th. I think he is the same one I see every day in the same area.
