Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 01/25/2017

Number: 1

Flying in vicinity of rosemary in bloom

I'm fairly certain that what I saw was a monarch. I'm familiar with Red Admirals, Painted Lady, and Viceroy. I think it was a monarch that did not migrate to Mexico. Also during the second part of Feb. I traveled south and saw 2 monarchs while visiting Jekyl Island of the coast of GA. I think these were also butterflies that had overwintered here and not gone to Mexico.
