Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 02/01/2017

Number: 1

It was a warm day.I was in the backyard and saw a monarch fluttering around the ground. I thought it was an older one, near the end..I tried to keep an eye on it but lost it when it went near some leaves on the patio. About a half hour later I was out near the flower bed and a Monarch was upright on the ground, but not moving much. I went over and scooped her up, planning to bring her to safety and feed. I then realized she was a newborn with wet wings. Brought her inside and hung her up to dry :) I later saw a chrysallis on the underside of my Japonica plant. Perhaps hers.
