We were enjoying a cookout in our unseasonably warm winter (67degF) when the quiet was interrupted by the chattering of dozens of dark birds in our trees. I walked up to see what kind they were, and disturbed a few that flew off. I saw the characteristic red wing patch then. That was an hour ago, and they are still out there. I suppose a migratory batch? We usually have them around here all summer, but this is the first we've seen them this year.
